The region is located at the border of Europe and Asia. Perm region is contiguous with Kirov and Sverdlovsk regions, Udmurtia, Bashkortostan and Komi Republic.

Woods occupy 71% of the whole territory of the region.

There is an architectural and ethnographic reserve museum "Khokhlovka" within the territory of the region. The museum is famous for unique wooden buildings of 17-19th centuries.

The Kungur ice cave is also located in the region. This cave attracts thousands of tourists.
